In 2008 Protea built a 2000m2 modern fabrication facility for production of offshore, marine and onshore cranes and winches.
In 2012 Protea added a new assembly workshop to allow the indoor assembly of the latest Heavy Lift and BOP Cranes. The assembly hall is 26m high and has added approximately 900 sq. m to Protea’s production facility.
Protea owns and operates:
• multiple test stands for load and functional testing of Pedestal Cranes, BOP Gantry Cranes, Overhead Travelling Cranes and High Capacity Winches;
• in-house cranes with capacity of up to 35T;
• mobile cranes with capacity of up to 100mT;
• modern Grit Blasting Chamber (28 x 7,5 x 6m) and Painting Chamber of the same size;
• mechanical, hydraulic and electrical assembly workshops;
• Hydraulic Power Units for flushing, pressure and functional testing;
• additional sophisticated production machines and equipment.
Protea’s employees have high qualifications documented with the DNV certificates.
