Repair of a 50 m high crane for TBS
A Team of Axxia employees repaired a crane for TBS (Tranportbeton Schüssler) with a height of 50 m, after the demolition a pivot point.
This crane unloads cargo from ships and fills it in the right silos. To repair the crane the Axxia team disassembled the 12 t heavy luffing jib and let it down to the ground. The two pivot points A and B, which hold the boom, were extremely damaged. Because of the demolition of pivot point A, the whole luffing jib was twisted and so it’s struts, too. The whole luffing jib was laid out on the floor and was measured along the whole construction.
The twisted struts were newly built and replaced. For the pivot point B Axxia replaced the whole bearing location. The entire pivot point A was replaced. The struts, the holding plates and the entire bearing location were built new and were replaced. Also the rope pulley head was fixed and replaced. After that the luffing jib was lifted by two truck cranes an assembled by the Axxia team.
